I get out of the waka with a heart fill with happiness.
I placed my own bare feet on the soft yellow sand.
I looked around and all I can hear is the quit sound of the wind blowing through my hair.
I feel safe with my people here.
I feel joy and Peace here.
I feel at home.

Hello Sarah!
I love that you end your poem with the way you feel when you land at Shag Point - peace, joy and at home. We are fortunate to be able to call New Zealand home!
Nicky :)
