Winter Learning journey Activity 2
Maori tradition is that only men is a allowed to be chief of the Maori tribe, however this new generation of tradition is upset. The young boy that was expose to be chief just died at birth, however his twin sister pai survived. At 12 this young fearless girl asks her grandmother for help and also from the help of her uncle Roa. She thought that the 2 of them can help her claim her right to be chief. To become chief she will have to prove to her grandfather how tough she is, how she has the passion of leadership, and also that she will be an amazing chief to lead her people. Her grandfather is hard to convince it will take 1 in a million to impress him because he is still gonna go with tradition which is only men can lead the Maori tribe.
