Summer Learning Journey Day 4 Activity 2

The Game I have chosen is called- Poi Rakau

How you play- You get into a large or a small group of people to form a circle. When the leader says muai(left)or matau(right) everyone tries to keep the stick still and try to move to there matau(left)or maui(right) quite fast. The goal is to keep the sticks standing, so this game includes a lot of speed and team work.

2 Rules of the Game- You can't dig your stick into the ground if you are playing outdoors, Your must hold your stick straight.

I have never played this common game before, however it is amazing and fun at the same time. This game includes a lot of teamwork and teamwork is really essential.

Hi Sarah,

Ruby here from the Summer Learning Journey team! It's great to see that you have been working through these activities. Well done!

Poi Rakau is a very fun game. I have played it a couple of times and always enjoy myself. You've done a great job of describing the game. Anyone who reads your blog will be able to know exactly what to do.

Have you played any of the other games before? They're all lots of fun.

I look forward to reading more of your blog over summer.
Cheers,
Ruby.
